Plan a Phuket nightlife week
Next week has enough going on to build a proper island night plan, not just a last-minute Bangla Road default. Here is how to use Patong, Bang Tao, Kamala, Old Town and the live-music spots without wasting half the night in a car.
The week at a glance
1. Tuesday: Old Town dinner, cocktails and Soi Romanee
Coolies Club is the Old Town anchor. It is not a beach-club night; it is dinner, cocktails, design, and a slower start in the historic district.
Why it matters: Old Town gives the week a non-Patong option. It is useful for couples, visiting friends, and residents who want a night out without a club queue.
What to do next: Book Coolies or another Old Town table first, then walk Soi Romanee before the late crowd arrives.
Coolies Club gives the planner an Old Town anchor, especially for Saturday.
2. Wednesday: make it a beach-club night
Use Catch Beach Club or Cafe del Mar as the midweek west-coast option. Catch is the cleaner day-to-night play; Cafe del Mar becomes more useful later in the week when the Club Room programming lands.
Why it matters: Beach clubs are best when you plan around sunset, transport, and spend. Showing up late without a booking turns a good night into a logistics problem.
What to do next: If you are north or west, pick one beach club and stay on that side of the island.
3. Thursday: live music before the weekend crowd
Suay Cherngtalay lists Thursday night live jazz from 7:00pm. Reggae Rumble brings Julian Marley and The Uprising to Lotus Arena on May 21, with Job2Do, Malaiman Downtown and INJA also listed.
Why it matters: Thursday has the strongest live-music choice of the week. It is also the night when you decide whether the weekend should be Bang Tao, Patong or Old Town.
What to do next: For a seated dinner night, choose Suay. For a proper concert, choose Reggae Rumble at Lotus Arena and plan transport before tickets.
Thursday's live-music choice includes Reggae Rumble at Lotus Arena.
Check the Phuket This Week map before you lock the night
The map is the live Phuket Intel view of what is open, listed, or worth checking this week. Use it when a venue changes its lineup, rain moves the plan, or you want a nearby backup before crossing the island.

4. Friday: Cafe del Mar Club Room or Banana Beach fire show
AVÖ is listed at Cafe del Mar Club Room on Friday May 22 at 10:00pm. Banana Beach Restaurant and Bar also lists Friday and Saturday fire shows with happy hour.
Why it matters: Friday splits into two useful paths. Cafe del Mar is the ticketed electronic-music route. Banana Beach is the easier social route if you want a lighter night.
What to do next: If Cafe del Mar is the plan, book before dinner. If you are with a mixed group, use Banana Beach as the safer first stop.
5. Saturday: the main decision night
Saturday May 23 has the strongest overlap. Fahlberg plays Cafe del Mar Club Room. Illuzion lists Noizu in Patong. Coolies runs its Saturday Chinoiserie Soiree in Old Town. Estrela Rooftop lists Saturday live music in Phuket Town.
Why it matters: You cannot do everything well. Pick one zone. Kamala/Bang Tao for Cafe del Mar, Patong for Illuzion, Old Town for Coolies and Estrela.
What to do next: Choose the zone before you choose the outfit. Cross-island moves after midnight are rarely worth it.
Illuzion lists Noizu for Saturday May 23. Check the venue page before going.
6. Sunday: recover, then choose one soft landing
Sunday is better for a lighter finish. Summore Day in Rawai lists weekend live music from 2:30pm to 7:00pm, and the beach clubs can still work if you want a sunset close.
Why it matters: A good nightlife week needs a recovery plan. Sunday should not require a long late-night drive unless you are staying nearby.
What to do next: Keep Sunday close to home. Rawai readers go south. Laguna and Bang Tao readers stay west.
Specific nights to check before you book
Cafe del Mar: AVÖ is listed for Friday May 22 and Fahlberg for Saturday May 23. Adassiya follows on Friday May 29, useful if you are planning beyond this week.
Illuzion: Noizu is the current Saturday May 23 anchor. Illuzion and Shelter publish act-by-act, so check the venue page before committing to Patong.
Live music: Suay Cherngtalay lists Thursday live jazz from 7:00pm. Estrela Rooftop lists Saturday live music in Phuket Town. Summore Day lists weekend afternoon live music in Rawai.
Old Town: Coolies Club runs its Saturday Chinoiserie Soiree with live performances, cocktails and dinner. Use it as the Old Town night, not as a pregame for Patong.
Add missing nightlife listings
This should become a repeating Phuket Intel format. If you run a bar, beach club, live room, DJ night, comedy night or late kitchen, send it in early so the next planner is better.
